Walkers take to their bikes for Manorlands

FIGURE-CONSCIOUS staff at Walkers accountants are hard at work training for the Bronte Big K Mountain Bike Challenge in aid of local Sue Rider Care hospice, Manorlands, which takes place on Sunday 20 September.

The Keighley-based firm is the main sponsor for this year’s event (now in its 16th year) but the corporate commitment has inspired many of the 14-strong team at Walkers to dust down their spokes and take part as well. They’ve also roped in spouses, kids and even clients to ride with them!

“Walkers has been advising businesses and personal clients in Keighley, Skipton and throughout the Dales for over 30 years and we’re proud as a company and as individuals to be supporting Manorlands hospice, which offers so much support to so many people throughout this area in times of great distress,” said Walkers’ partner Nicola Hudson.

“We understand that entries are coming in thick and fast, – although there’s plenty of room for more. The event offers the option of two challenging mountain bike trails of 31 and 21 miles and a more family friendly 11 mile option! Let’s hope it achieves record-breaking funds for Manorlands as well.”

Sue Ryder Care fundraiser Andrew Wood is delighted that Walkers have got involved in this year’s event. He said: “We are really grateful to the team from Walkers, not only have they given financial support but they have provided Marshals and have participants in all three of the routes we offer.”
